Generally, a heatpack and GENTLE stretching is good for it even if injured, but take it easy until you get a diagnosis. Take anti-inflammatory medication if it's safe for you.

Thanks. I've got ibuprofen and a wrap brace thing to wear. I'm nervous about heat because I'm not sure if heat or ice would be better.

Ice used to be recommended for this kind of injury but it's not any more - you want heat to both relax the muscles and increase bloodflow to the area.
