We should build a road bridge from Scotland to Ireland. People say that it would cost too much, an estimated £300bn (mostly too cross the beaufort dike, where the government in England deliberately polluted Scottish and Irish waters by disposing of leftover war ammunition and radioactive materials as English waters were deemed too useful), but the truth is that if we'd done it ten years ago then it would have paid for itself in saved ferry fees alone.

Related, a road bridge between England and France would have cost less, saved more in a shorter period of time, and helped break the notion that the UK is somehow special in its isolation.

We should still do it. At this point, we're paying extra to keep our status as the bigots of Europe. Fucking third hand nostalgia for an Empire that was never that great to begin with.

The Channel Tunnel (French: Tunnel sous la Manche), sometimes referred to by the portmanteau Chunnel, is a 50.46 km (31.35-mile) undersea railway tunnel, opened in 1994, that connects Folkestone (Kent, England) with Coquelles (Pas-de-Calais, France) beneath the English Channel at the Strait of Dover.
