I still remember being in middle school and seeing the cover at my library. A kid on a broom, there's a small gold ball, a 3 headed dog in the background, the lightning bolt print for the title character. I was intrigued but I didn't read the book because it seemed too kiddy for me. I wanted to be seen as a teenage girl reading serious shit like Anne Rice books. I really don't know where I decided what was considered cool when I was a teen lol
And then like 3 or 4 years later I watched the second film because one of my friends was a huge Potter fan, and thusly became a HP fan myself.

All those memories from remembering the cover of a book lol
