It is the same in the sense that both means you consumed the contents of the book ànd how you did it doesn't make much of a difference. Unless the audio book is changed/abridged in some way, the ultimate goal of "finished the book" is the same.

Yeah, in the context that I see people bring up 'audiobooks are not reading' it's only been to judge the amount of books the person has been able to consume that they might not otherwise had they had to read it with their eyes.

I know that in the literal sense that 'listening to an audiobook' is not 'reading a book with my eyes', but the knowledge got obtained, so why does it matter?
