General narcisism and people who don't pay attention on the road. People who don't use turn signals. People who realize too late their exit or turn but swerve across three lanes anyway. People who weave in and out of traffic and tailgate when they think the person in front of them isn't going fast enough.

Basically people who think they are the only person on the road who matters.

Seems like the sort of thing a person who pulls out and drives ten miles an hour slower than the person they pulled out in front of would say.

If traffic is backing up behind you, trying to get by, you are the problem.

You sir are an asshole.

I, madam, have a timetable to keep and a home I want to get to. Not everybody is lucky enough to have a council job, where they can turn up to whatever schedule they want and still not get fired.

If you were really interested in keeping to a timetable, you'd plan better instead of leaving too late and having to speed to get to your destination.

Speak to my boss, he sets the route and the drops. Or maybe stop ordering all the useless shit.

Maybe you shouldn't make your inability to get a cushy job that doesn't include delivering packages everyone else's problem.

No be that attitude when it is your stuff, I bet.

I rarely order shit and if I do I don't care if it comes a minute late. And I don't road rage because I'm unsatisfied with the job I chose.

DA

Kinda funny they assume philstar is the slow driver, because tailgating is just as annoying to watch even if you're behind everybody involved. Like relax thine sphincter, Roidymcroadrage, none of us are going any faster because you keep swiveling your wheel like a child.

Exactly!

Also, if it is rush hour and everyone else is going about the same speed, but tailgaters insist on tailgating and then swerving just to get ahead a couple car lengths, what even is the point?

Re: Driving Pet Peeve

(Anonymous) 2025-03-01 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
It brings me great joy when people do that and then we are both stuck at the same red light. Like good job! Hou got to the red light faster! Now you have longer to wait.

Re: Driving Pet Peeve

(Anonymous) 2025-03-01 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but they're not stuck waiting for you to look up from your screen and remember that green means go.

Re: Driving Pet Peeve

(Anonymous) 2025-03-01 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Who are you talking to?

Re: Driving Pet Peeve

(Anonymous) 2025-03-01 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Yourself. We all know it.

Re: Driving Pet Peeve

(Anonymous) 2025-03-01 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I hope someone brake checks your obnoxious ass and you total your car.

Re: Driving Pet Peeve

(Anonymous) 2025-03-02 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
It's also funny because slow and steady driving causes way less congestion than assholes who speed up and slam on the breaks in moving traffic. That's how most traffic jams start. It's majorly counterproductive.

No, I think driving way below the speed limit or on the highway driving on the left lane way slower than everyone else and not passing but staying there is also annoying and similarly acting like you are the only one on the road that matters.

How in the nuttiest of shits did you reach this conclusion?

Re: Driving Pet Peeve

(Anonymous) 2025-03-01 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
They're someone who plans poorly, which puts them always in a rush, and they think everyone else on the road is impeding them.

Re: Driving Pet Peeve

(Anonymous) 2025-03-02 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
That's a narrative you created in your head.

I reiterate:
How in the nuttiest of shits did you reach this conclusion?

+1

The entirety of my complaints about driving come down to drivers with main character syndrome. Every other car on the road is an obstacle to them being able to just fly around everywhere at 70mph whether it's a highway or a 20mph residential street. I have been passed on the right in residential areas - the parking/bike lane for fuck's sake - by people incensed that I'm only doing 30 in a 20 school zone. The city added bump-out curbs all along the street so I got flipped off by someone who tried to pass me on the right and then nearly rammed into the bump-out which is there precisely to stop him from doing that.

There is no one demographic like this either. Young and stupid, old and stupid, fancy car, beater car, male, female, doesn't matter, they all do it and I hate them for it.
