Xander was always the predator he accused Angel of being. Everything was always a confession with that guy.

Except Neither Xander nor Angel are real people, and during the series, which is the only absolute canon, Xander always saw Dawn as a little sister. The comics are crap, from beginning to end.

It is ok if you hate Xander because now it's a meme that he was Joss's self insert, and Joss deserves all the hate, but this is a bit reaching especially since none of the series's writers were involved in the comic writing team so yeah, no, series Xander, canon Xander, would've never involved himself with Dawn, even after Dawn was of age (Which was the case in the comics, Dawn was 19 or so, IIRC, while Angel involved himself with Buffy when Buffy was 17)

DA - Yeah, he approved of and wrote for the post-show comics.

DA - According to Joss, who created and co-wrote the comics, Season Eight and Nine are canon.

And yeah, the age gap between Xander and Dawnie would absolutely be the least "problematic" age gap relationship in the show, if it wasn't for the Folgers incest vibes.
