I didn’t know this was a thing. In fic or in professional media. Is it usually two people of the same sex or different sexes?

(I can only think of two examples in films and TV, and one of them doesn’t really count by the end of the story)

Huh. I've only seen it in pro media at which point I quit immediately.

It's pretty common to explore uncomfortable topics through fantasy scenarios, kink or not.

Makes sense. Not sure if you mean gay people having het sex or straight people having gay sex (first is a major trigger for me, latter makes me super upset) but either way if a mainstream media does it, it's either homophobic or rapey as fuck if portrayed uncritically. (See: that Adam movie/book which was a huge clusterfuck.) Fics, on the other hand? Not canon, tend to have little-to-no impact even if it icks me.

Congrats on biphobia, I guess.
