Revengers Tragedy (2003)

It’s very weird and somehow just my thing…

- a film based on a Jacobean revenge drama
- set in a dystopian anachronistic version of Liverpool
- the villain is clearly styled just like Karl Lagerfeld
- the language is largely an edited version of the original, with some added modern cursing

It’s weird and funny and bleak and full of bizarre styling choices.

Also, it stars Christopher Eccleston, Derek Jacobi, Eddie/Suzy Izzard, and Mark Warren.

We watched it in one of my media classes in undergrad to talk about intertextuality and I’ve been obsessed ever since.

What is everyone doing this weekend?

Going to be pretty chill for me. A new ghost is out on Project Unknown so we will likely play that. I also got farther on my main crochet project so I hope to start on the second part. Otherwise, not much going on where I am.

Work sadly and it’s delivery day so huuuurgh, I already don’t want to go. But I’ve got three days off after so I am going to do bugger all except play some games, watch some TV, read my book and maybe do some frivolous shopping with the gf. She’s been thinking about getting new headphones so if she wants to I’ll go with her for a day out date.

Sleep, build a lego set (it’s an A frame cabin), read, sleep, read, sleep. And maybe crawl into the hammock with my kindle and then doze off in the sun since it’s very springy here right now.

It's a 3 day weekend for me, but I've got a bunch of commitments to catch up on between work, volunteering, and house chores. If I've got time I'm hoping to write some fanfic, or finish Kathy Rain.

Project Unknown looks like a fun game! Reminds me a little bit of a more serious Content Warning.

I am taking a required undergrad filler course right now that's such basic tedious kindergarten-level bullshit that every time I open an assignment, the only thing that keeps me from bashing my laptop into pieces is the knowledge that I'll have the opportunity to anonymously excoriate the professor and course when the student survey opens.
