It was SO DUMB! I did like the fandom response of completely ignoring it and/or writing that he got better, though. It's not often that I say the comics did it better, but wow the comics did this better. (He tried to enter a fight he couldn't win so his powers responded by teleporting him away, repeatedly.)

Even if they did desperately want to kill a black character there's no shortage of black X-Men! That one just makes it so obvious.
