Because, yes, she does affect actual male friendships by making those involved self-conscious about the way they act around each other and making their management react in odd ways to make sure their clients are marketable in the ways they want them to be.
To be clear, I am not talking about most fans. I am not talking about fic writers and fanartists who understand boundaries. I'm not talking about fans who speculate for fun about real-life peoples' public personas and realize that it is all just speculation and has very little to do with reality. But there are absolutely some problematic fans that have caused specific issues with this.
