Dang it, I completely forget how this episode ended, and I don’t even remember who it was happening to which Doctor it was under to try to look it up.

It’s from “73 yards” in the most recent series, I think. And it’s mainly focused on Ruby and not the Doctor.

While I remember all that… I can’t actually remember how the episode ended.

It was a loop iirc, the old woman WAS Ruby and she prevents The Doctor from disappearing by warning her younger self.

Somehow the conclusion didn’t stick as well as the set-up. I think at the time I didn’t find it a very satisfying resolution.

Agree, I loved the concept for that episode but I felt really frustrated after watching it. Like they just said "wouldn't this be fucked up" but then didn't bother to conclude it in a satisfying way. Which sucks! Because it was really unsettling and memorable and if it had a better ending I feel like it could've been one of my favorite episodes.
