(Anonymous) 2025-03-14 10:50 am (UTC)(link)What's crazy is Whole Foods prices are comparable to regular grocery stores with some items. At least it seemed that way when I went to Whole Foods a few weeks ago.
What really stuck out to me was that a bag of potato chips was $2.99. Lay's potato chips are roughly around $4.50 and their bag sizes have shrunk by what feels like half. The Whole Foods potato chips were the generic brand (365 or something like that) yes, but the bags were bigger and it was regularly priced cheaper than Lay's.
Don't get me wrong, organic cilantro was like $3 while at the regular grocery store cilantro is usually less than $1. Meats at Whole Foods is so expensive, but I think the inflation of a lot of goods has made us a little blind to the fact that no matter where you shop you're getting ripped off.
