I want sleep but I also want to read my book

The struggle.

Do you have a good sleep schedule? If I start ignoring my sleep schedule and routines that is one of my "mental health is in decline" red flags. I am usually in bed by 9pm, lights out at 10pm at the latest, and up at 5am.

Ugh I feel your pain. I should be in bed and I was struggling to stay awake four hours ago but now I couldn’t sleep if I tried. Being tired and being sleepy aren’t the same thing for me :( Once my sleep schedule gets messed up I also tend to slide into depression.
One thing that can help me if I notice in time that I’m headed towards a stretch of insomnia and depression is audiobooks. I’ll put on a soothing voice telling me a story I already know but that’s interesting enough to keep my mind from wandering. Usually within a few minutes I can drift off.

I have a terrible sleep schedule. No matter how tired I am during the day, I find it difficult to fall asleep much before 3am. I just lie there in bed wide awake and knowing full well that it'll be a struggle to wake up by morning.
