as for me...some music fan-friends from 94-00, it would be nice but I'm 99% positive they'd take one look at me (transman, satanist, votes D) and run screaming for the hills. I would only look them up if I could remember their names and if I wanted a laugh at how fast and far they'd run.

I have this half-and-half situation with fandom friends I've known for 25 years. Some, who happen to live near me even if we don't hang out much? I'm still super good friends with. Love 'em, wouldn't lock 'em out of the house if they dropped by. Other friends? I know that they're still into fandoms I left in the dust 20 years ago so yeah, we really wouldn't get along now. It's weird.
