I used to live near a large library where the librarians were really good at creating neat displays grouped by similar books/authors, themes, etc. so that's where I'd start my browsing first. I found a lot of new favorites that way!

But in these modern times? Yeah. I browse a bit on Amazon, and I read lists people compile, like "Best Historical Mysteries of 2025", that kind of thing but it isn't quite the same. Finding a really good book that draws you in is a lot harder than it used to be.
