As someone who casually enjoyed these books as a teen and still never got around to reading the 9th book... wait, what? Who did actually write them? Deets on this?

I actually found out after submitting this secret that apparently he had a teenaged neighbor who was basically his beta reader and she’d rewrite a lot of stuff. But he was no longer in contact with her by the time he revived the series. He had started dating a fan and she became his new uncredited writing partner.
(If you couldn’t tell, I really dislike the author as a person because he’s just so gross)
