First, there's very few 100 USD games. Asassins Creed is 70 and that's bad enough. Second, I don't believe this secret for a second. FS is usually so quick to shout troll, but stays silent on this clearly made up secret.
Third, nice, OP. Saying that all these woke games are shit. I mean, true, but that's only part of it, aother part beig is that people with no integrity can't be assed to hire decent writers. They get enough money from Blackrock, pay themself a nice salary and call it a day. Woke is just an easy indicator for a shit game made on woke agenda money. Hogwarts Legacy could be a good game if it had decent plot and realistic dialogue. It's woke and shit, but being woke is not the reason it is shit. It's just an indicator.

There's few $100 games, true, but I was assuming this person bought a new game and any DLC that comes with it. I honestly do hope it's fake because of how stupid and deep into Twitter discourse OP is. Save that $100 for gas and the electric bill, not to "own" the culture war.

I was working on the assumption of it being a special edition. My money was on Assassins Creed, because ubisoft is parasitic company, and have a few "special editions" being about £80 (which I think is somewhere in the $105% ballpark?)

The reset of it, tho, perfectly plausible that it's a troll I admit it snagged my interest, but it's also possible it's someone with idpol on the brain. I just need to know what game it is to decide for sure.

I've been playing AC: Shadows and it's ok. It's not trash, and it's not "woke." It's not as good as Origins but lots of AC fanboys hated Origins/loved Valhalla. It's better than Valhalla. Its Japanese translations are ASS. I know enough of the language to know they can and should do better. Yasuke is a gem, but it takes too long to get to him if you're not speed-running the plot.

that said, there's no marginalized creator to throw money at, just Ubisoft, so I highly doubt OP means AC: Shadows. Shadows is at least playable, aside from the weird glitch I had last night where birds weren't flapping their wings but just sliding across the ground like D&D minis.

Oh, I think many of us know someone who is fully in on performative spending. I don't believe this particular secret (mostly because of the $100 pricetag) but I fully understand the feeling. And yeah, "woke and shit" is just good marketing on a turd. "MAGA and shit" is the same thing.

Micro transactions are a thing though. And these days they aren’t so micro. $60-70 buy in plus DLC or loot boxes or skins is easily possible. Have you checked Steam lately? The front page of the store when I opened it today had three games for $100 as the featured content and a 16 year old game for $7.49 that popped up because I’ve been playing something else by that dev.
