You use a lot of generalisations there. Talk about Genshin VAs, that's what this is about, not some abstarct workers. The union wants to earn money. It charges 4000-5000 USD to become a member and 2 percent of the VAs earnings. It's like a financial pyramid with the CEOs at the top. VAs that take on non-Union games, such as Genshin, can no longer vote or partake in admin positions. That's because CEO want all the money and all the power.

Also Wrio's VA is not a rando. You didn't even watch the video, did you?

I do not care about VA either way. Hoyo should go to Ausi or UK VAs. I'm tired of no ENG voices in my game. Fuck US VAs holding characters hostage.

But my point is that this issue is bigger than English VAs. If that's all you care about, fine. I don't.

You're right, I didn't watch it entirely but skipped to the parts that seemed relevant. And it's just a react video, right? And he seemed to me he was just reacting to someone's arguments which are selling the narrative he believes in. Where's his own research? His sources? Where does he talk about his own experience? Discuss opinions that differ from his? Talk to people who are in the union so they can both explain the pros and cons? How does that make it different from any other similar vid, article, comment on this topic? I've seen the exact same thing, with the exact same arguments, presented the same way, with the same kind of clickbait title, from countless people that aren't in this industry. I respect his right not to want to unionize, but his vid is neither reliable or informative. SAG-AFTRA, like most labor organizations, is a non-profit -- not that non-profits can't be problematic. I know their conditions and some of the benefits they've negotiated for their workers over the years. Discussing whether this is all worth it and for whom as all VAs don't work in the same conditions, now that would have been interesting.
