Honestly, this is one reason I rewatch a lot. Once I've watched something a few times I know the basic plot. If I'm mentally tired, it doesn't take energy to rewatch. And I also have the chance to catch new details that I didn't catch before. Plus I already know I enjoy the thing, so I know I'll have fun watching.

You do have to pay attention to the cooking shows if you're going to copy their recipes.
Also, you have to keep track of clues in the better written police procedurals.

Same, OP. I look for and read episode recaps and summaries when possible, and that helps a lot.

I'm the same way, though with a different selection of 'half attention' thing. I also can't read anything other than single issues of comic books.

This is why I don’t watch much of anything. I’ll give shows and movies a try but if they don’t grab all of my attention, there’s no point leaving it on. I dislike background noise so it’s all or nothing for me :(

I'm sick and tired of fandom obsessively pathologizing completely normal human behavior. It's like they can't comprehend that a person can be shy or a little bit socially awkward without having something wrong with them.

I find it sad, tbh. I don't know if it all comes from wanting to see representation of a condition that people have themselves, and the fact that human behavior naturally leans towards attempts at pattern recognition and then human brains blow that out of proportion, or what. If the people doing it aren't actually autistic themselves, then it's even weirder, like... you scoring points for some sort of [insert here]-coded celebrity scavenger hunt or something?

TBH, you can probably find a clip of that scene on youtube. There aren't a lot of those scenes but they are gems and the only reason I like Spike post season 4.

Otherwise it sounds like BtVS is something you can and should skip.

Honestly, the fact that people who played even Fallout 4 don't realise that The Brotherhood are closer to villains than anywhere near good guys is bizarre to me.

Fallout is great at really grey morality, while also hitting you over the head with satirical stuff, and yet... some of the fans are absolutely blind to this, it's mental.

Guess what, the faction who goes "oh no, we can't let normal people have technology™, this is what got us into this post nuclear-apocalytpic mess in the first place!" then have a mission where you literally go for them, invaders who had a full on 'we come in peace' introduction to the region, to get new nukes for their gigantic nuke-slinging robot, aren't the good guys!

That Max was raised in this should make his struggles with moral choices vs blind loyalty to a skewed cause obvious but no.
