I've never seen playersexual romances called homophobic. I've only ever seen it called biphobic, because they're implicitly only attracted to the PC's gender, rather than multiple. The strongest case I've played is Stardew Valley which has one romance-able character's ex (who is part of her personal story) always be the PC's gender. I don't agree, in general (though the Stardew example does make me raise an eyebrow), but that's the argument I see.
