also, if he's generally chill, I'd keep giving him a chance. we're allowed to disagree with people's taste, you know? as much as that flinch response sucks, it's not actually his fault that society tries to make women feel that way, it's good for us to learn to say 'yeah I like this thing and I don't have to scare about the random scoffs of even people we are or would like to be close to'. My best friend in the world is my brother, and there's lots of stuff each other loves that we're both a little bit 'ok come on tho' for the other. I think it's way more important that you feel like he respects you as a person, than whether he respects a random pop star, even one you like.
