Yeah I'm with everyone else here, it's not that there's weebs in your trans space, it's that there's trans folks among the weebs. Probably more than in the wild because online fandom has always skewed queerer, but you're basically looking for trans friends/support/whatever in all the wrong places. Fandom admittedly helps people find themselves - it helped me, cosplay made me realize I was trans 20 years ago - but there are definitely other, better ways to interact with other human beings.

I bailed on anime fandom because I'm just not that into anime the way the lifestyle weebs are. Still trans, though. I've had better "trans space" experiences with heavy metal concert fans and garden volunteering than the last ten anime conventions I've been to.

I'd point out here that OP did specify "online" trans spaces as opposed to offline ones. The garden volunteers are unlikely to be an online space, for example. They also didn't mention anything about offline groups or mention any difficulty finding people to fit in with.

They can still have a point about online trans spaces in particular regardless of all of that.
