I like to imagine it just adds to her the Parker Legend. Like Parker is so good that she doesn't even need to tie up her hair when sneaking through vents, but sometimes she feels like it so she does.

She didn't wear heels while doing stuff on the show - this is a promo pic.
I mean, when she was undercover she did, but doing wire work and whatnot, she went practical.

Yeah, hair is an issue on a *lot* of shows. I mean - I can't count the times I made 'hell no!' noises when they had someone at a crime scene looming over a bloody corpse with all their shiny tresses flopping and hanging all over the place. I mean - c'mon!

Comment OP here and I think it would've bugged me less if Parker had never put her hair up at all, because I would've resigned myself to her hair being a casualty of rule of cool/sexy, like I do with so many action heroines.

It's kind of like the couple of times Elliot is shown visibly injured and dazed, rather than shrugging off being whaled on and shot at by entire packs of disposable goons. Except I'm used to action heroes/canons going "TBI? We don't know her" until close to the grand finale, when suddenly it matters/catches up to them.

Iirc the first time we see Parker, she's got her hair up under a cap, and that's so damn rare, it made me sad to see it go. Reminded me of the bit in the Birds of Prey movie where one of the women offers another a hair tie during a fight scene. Except then sometimes Parker would randomly have her hair bundled up again. Was it a stunt double thing? A "someone really into flowing tresses wrote/directed this episode" thing? Idk.
