Re: Do you stick to one genre
(Anonymous) 2025-05-01 03:36 am (UTC)(link)Horror is my number one-- especially for books, though I do also enjoy horror films and TV. She's my forever girl, and I enjoy many subgenres within it.
I also read a lot of thriller/mystery, sci-fi, fantasy... I don't read a lot of non-genre fiction (but I don't make a big point of avoiding it, I just... rarely run out of genre fiction to read) and I read even less romance. I do read non-fiction-- cookbooks and craft how-tos, memoirs, history, science... just whatever. The occasional classic lit.
For movies, my second favorite genre is... musicals. Aside from a few notable exceptions, I suppose this is the opposite of horror. I also love, again, mystery, thriller, sci-fi, fantasy. And I tend to prefer older comedies. I'm more likely to watch a rom-com than read a romance novel, but I'm picky about them. And I do like documentaries!
So... I have very broad tastes, I just keep going back to horror as kind of my comfort zone. I like the classics of the genre and I like a lot of new stuff.
