My dog could open doors, wipe his face on command, and turn off the TV. He could learn one off actions no problem right up to his dying day, things like “go stand there while we open this gate,” stuff like that. He was just so, so smart and I haven’t gotten over losing him. I don’t think I ever will.

Dawwww. I'm so sorry. But sound like he was well loved and lived a great life. I'm sure he knew how loved he was.

That's good. All we can do is love them and care for them and make sure they feel safe and special while they are with us. They are the very best things in this world, far better than we deserve.
