I feel you. I have trouble recommending things to start with and a lot of my fandoms around youtube, so I can get weird around it

LMAO I feel this secret so much.

A part of it is also that in the past (especially during COVID lockdown times) when I recc'd videos and YT creators to friends they weren't ever interested in them. So I just accepted that what I like aren't things my friends are into.

Like I thought my friends would love Defunctland, but none of all 2 of the friends I shared a couple of videos from Defunctland with seemed to have watched them.

Like, if Todd in the Shadows is too nerdy for my friends to be interested in I don't think they'd be receptive to Tasting History with Max Miller or Princess Weekes videos. Much less so with creators like FD Signifer or Contrapoints or Mina Le.
Even though all the creators I watch I think are phenomenal and very entertaining.

There's just something utterly endearing about the Dry Rock Gulch Protectrons talking yee-haw in their stilted Protectron speech. It's so cute!

And Cappy! Cappy is adorable and I also love how he's clearly a bad santa version of Mickey Mouse.

I also laugh every time at that one part of the Nuka-World jingle that's like "Come on down to Nuka-World and see it for yourself, a vacation that refreshes, a trip you won't forget! A park with every minimum acceptable safety standard met!" it cracks me up.

Coca-Cola Disneyworld is the best. And also worst. Nuka-World on Tour is not much better!

It's because after listening to 20+ seasons of horror, you get used and learn to recognize the tropes. Kind of like how horror fans watching Halloween for the first after years of watching horror movies, think it is predictable.

But believe me, you are not alone. The subreddit has many, many posts about this.

at least you can pirate published books as a whole file. Some of the less popular translation, ususally unfinished, you had to read chapter to chapter. But I agree.

Also Novelupdates stopped working for unregistered users. That's filthy gatekeeping.

Oh and another caveat. Pro translation worse than the amateur ones.
