I think the fact that Carrigan is entirely hairless takes away some of the weirdness of it - it's just how he is, so it doesn't stand out.

Good point. I’d definitely find Erivo more unsettling if she wasn’t also shaving her head.

And with people like Carrigan or Matt Lucas, as you say, that’s just how they are. The eyebrows aren’t a conspicuous blank space.
