(Anonymous) 2025-05-11 05:36 am (UTC)(link)I only liked this series up until Order of the Phoenix and I feel like the books went downhill from there. Goblet of Fire had a cool tournament arc and a cliffhanger! Then Order of the Phoenix squandered the momentum, Half Blood Prince was lame, and Deathly Hallows just sucked.
Also, I never gave much thought to Ginny. I've never understood the complaints about the movies "not adapting her personality" because I sat through all of OotP and HBP and there was not a single drop of personality to be found! The cool Ginny that jinxed other students for being dicks was only ever found off-screen where we didn't see her. Otherwise she was just kind...there? I wanted Harry to end up with Luna because Luna was an actual character with motives and quirks and stuff!
I've since felt really bemused by JKR revealing herself to be a twitter addicted dickhead and how this has changed fans' perceptions of the books because I was disillusioned with them for years.
