Like OP, I had a much better sense of humor 20 years ago. I read old saved chat logs and can't believe some of the things I just said out of nowhere. I'd never be able to come up with anything like them now.

But 20 years ago I was a lot MORE stressed out about my life than I am now. I was in college and the worst procrastinator. I made myself sick, like literally physically got fevers, from the stress. So I guess I'll take my job that I like well enough now I'm exchange for my sense of humor.

The rest of how I'm different I'd probably get told to take to the politics section. But let's just say my 20-year-old self was terrified of things that seem pretty okay now. Things I still don't think are good, but if I'd known what was coming, I would have ceased the ability to function. Now I'm too tired to stress about things I can't help.

I would recognize myself, yeah. I think we can almost always change a through line between our younger selves and our current selves. Younger me was a lot cockier and now I'm wiser but my core beliefs haven't changed much.

Personally I'm a huge fan of We Do. And the Kamp Krusty song. Both are on my ipod.

...Huh. Well then, I guess I'll have to check them out in my spare time. Thanks.

Same. III is my favorite Led Zepplin album. Once I'd listened to it, I couldn't understand the fuss about IV.

I know what you mean, seeing people in the 00s mock furries (not even the bad ones, just in general) and OCs as a teen made me regress art-wise a lot because I didn't want to be made fun of. :( But now I'm letting myself have the fun I "couldn't" have as a teenager now.

That's any song regularly played on the radio for me. Come on isn't there anything else by them you could play?

Bron-y-Aur Stomp is a GREAT song!

Mine is Immigrant Song. I have also been fond of Southbound Saurez for a long time, and that NEVER gets played, lol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLa1CyfAko0

Alright, I guess I'll be the one to say it:

Simpsons did it! Simpsons did it!

You're far too king, but case deserves all the credit. Without case to keep this community running, there'd be no use for any of the secrets any of us made! I'm honored to contribute in any way, and hope this community keeps on truckin' as long as people enjoy it.

Cheers,

a secret maker

Hell yes, HELL yes.

I don't think I have one favorite Zep song... but I DEFINITELY have a least favorite and it's Stairway. That song is the reason I spent the first twenty-odd years of my life thinking I hated Led Zeppelin when actually I love them! It took my best friend turning me on to Ramble On and hearing Black Dog on the classic rock station in college for me to realize.

I'm writing THE most self-indulgent drawer fic. It's a crossover between like five things, NONE of which has a big active fandom (the one with the closest thing to a big/active fandom still isn't, like... BIG big, and I'm in a niche ship corner there, the others I'd class as things that have fans but not fandoms, and one thing that like... the fans it has are me and one friend?)

So I'm not planning on posting it anywhere! But I'm glad I'm writing it down for me!

Tomorrow I'm going to my favorite grocery store in the world (it means a little trip out of town but not a huge trip), where some of my preferred treats are on the weekly special.

Should I worry?

[personal profile] philstar22 2025-05-22 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
So, car accident last monday. Went to doc, doing PT twice a week. But the pain in my neck and back of my head has started worsening the past couple days.

I have an MRI ordered. But I'm wondering if this is something I should be worried about, or if worsening pain even more than a week after an accident is normal.

Do you need a change in your meds or something?

I really enjoy the musical numbers in The Simpsons. I just think they’re neat.

(Anonymous) 2025-05-22 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I don’t trust Clamp with endings. The only one I liked was CCS, but then Tsubasa threw a wrench in the happily ever after.

I think I would, but younger me was very anxious and insecure, especially in regards to hobbies. Older me has zero fucks to give.

That sounds amazing, nonny! I’m slowly working on my own self-indulgent fic and it’s making me really happy.

[personal profile] dani_phantasma 2025-05-22 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
I've always really liked OCs but i remember back then that so many of the OCs I (let myself?) got most invested in back then were guys because I felt like because they were guys and I was (or identified as) a girl that it took some of the potential for being mocked off me because it felt like more female OCs were labeled 'mary sues' and OCs were so often assumed to be a barely disguised insert of the creator , so with a male OC I could at least be like "see he is OBVIOUSLY very different from me"

Nowadays I have more variety of OCs and I care less about what people might say but also just feel like it's safer. Also I'm kind of getting into more of my "girls love" era so.. lol. yeah.

I'm not sure this is something anyone here can responsibly and accurately answer for you. It sounds like something you need to address with your doctor. I hadn't heard about your car accident and I'm sorry that happened to you! Hope you're feeling better soon.

I did address with doctor, that's why he ordered MRI. He didn't tell me to go to ER. I'm just laying in bed, freaking out.
