I can't watch the newer seasons because of this; Homer and Marge not being Boomers just feels incorrect!

Agreed. I probably couldn't watch the newer seasons either. If they wanted to make the show go on and on and reflect modern times, they should have ended it and done a spinoff where Bart and Lisa are grown. Trying to have things both ways just doesn't cut it for me.
