Left a friend group because it had just become a couple of cliques and I could no longer lie to myself about the fact I didn't belong. Also, despite knowing some of the folks for years, they were never really friends... I would show up for them but they couldn't be supportive when I needed it. I just peaced out one day. Only one reached out but didn't seem to grasp the situation.

A semi-acquaintance/semi-friend group I left because I felt like the folks were a little too comfortable with racism and their inability to give a fuck about anything outside their inner circle, and didn't see the problem with thinking it was never their responsibility to look out for the little guy. I guess I didn't want to be around people like that. Basically, they didn't want to hear about your problems if it they thought it was gonna totally be a drag. Maybe some of that has bled into me, because part of me doesn't want to make new friends because I don't want to have to care about people who may turn out to be selfish af. Which is really a fear and not necessarily reality, but I'm tired and don't have the energy to suss people out anymore.
