For me, AO3 is a huge, huge plus for the overall enjoyability of fandom, and it was in its infancy 15 years ago, and didn't officially exist 16 years ago. So that's one massive point in the 'disagree' column for me.

But other than AO3, I find basically everything else worse, now, so...ehhh? *hand wobble*

The sad thing is, I actually do like tumblr as a fandom platform. I just wish it hadn't taken over as THE fandom platform. In a universe where Tumblr AND Dreamwidth (or a journaling site with a very similar functionality model) became dual fandom hubs, and most people were fannishly active on both, I think I would enjoy fandom a lot more than I currently do.

(also I miss vidding fandom, and the way fanvids used to be)
