(Anonymous) 2025-06-14 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)Occasionally I'll get carefully curated recommendations from trusted friends in which this is not the case - hence the "almost" - but if I'm randomly clicking something on AO3 it's been 99.99999% accurate to the point that they've become an immediate Avoid tag for me.
The fact that it's usually the same character Assigned Secret Girl is even worse.
I'm not trans, but I have a lot of trans male friends, acquataintances, coworkers, relatives (including one of my dads!), and they are not just larping; the fact that most people, even in supposedly enlightened fandom spaces, still clearly think they're women with short hair and mastectomies depresses the shit out of me.
