For me it's not a word, but a piece of punctuation: the em-dash. It's apparently obscure enough that people now think you aren't human if you use it.

Yeah, that is a weird one for me. it is something that my email program does automatically. Didn't realize it was an AI thing.

I think this is actually a paradox, because AI wouldn't have put in lots of em-dashes if it didn't train on them. I think the issue is that AI trained on scraped fanfics which have a LOT of em-dashes and it stands out to non-fic people.

Right? I'm baffled by how many people want so badly to be good at identifying AI written text that they'll just seize upon any "clue" and run with it no matter how nutty.
