Love this. James Spader is SO hot and he has aged like a fine wine, which is reason enough, but there's also something so compelling and attractive about Reddington, despite (because of?) his heavily skewed moral compass.

I still can't get over this being the same guy who was the first floppy haired pretty boy to play Daniel Jackson in the original Stargate movie.

The first thing that actually comes to mind for me is his obsequious little toad of a character in Mannequin. I don't know why, since I saw him in Pretty in Pink first, I think his character in Sex, Lies and Videotape was one of his best early roles, and Crash (1996) was so damn weird. I'd think one of those roles would have a higher profile in my head, but no. Man, he always turns in an interesting performance, though (I like Supernova and The Watcher probably way more than I would because of him).

I can't help but see this name as Paddington. Is that deliberate do you think?

Plate o' shrimp, I just started watching this, and he's so compelling. I really love Dembe, too.

I can't believe this is the same guy from sex, lies, and videotape!

As another Reddington enjoyer, I’m kind of curious if there are other characters you like for the same reason.

(I’d put Crowley from Supernatural in a similar category: cunning, well dressed, gravely voice…)

OMG, yes. I could listen to his voice for hours - and when you watch Spader's face as he brings Reddington alive, you realize he's the master of intensity, using the tiniest, slightest, changes in his eyes and lips ... absolutely mesmerizing!
