I stick with my small, intimate friend group and we go one day at a time, lol. Yeah, we get sweaty sometimes with it, but we usually keep each other in check when the delulu starts getting out of control. It's much better to consume it that way and we can have deep, serious discussions about scandals and whatnot without slurs, rampant name-calling, and genuine hateful comments.

I like a K-pop group! And boy did I get out of the fandom fast, it was fucking disgusting. So all I do is listen to the music - I would love to be in a fandom for the group but I just cannot get into it, it's the worst "fandom" I have ever seen.

(Not naming the group because then people will say other groups aren't as bad and uh yes they are.)

I've just gotten into KPop, and I've discovered a lovely community of fellow KPop lovers; I entered the world via liking one group, and I've discovered how much I like another one - and even better, I'm discovering groups and individuals whose music is really wonderful, and who I never would have heard of before I entered this world.

I'm very aware that the KPop industry chews up and spits out all but a small percentage of the young people who work so hard to become idols. I'm aware that far too many people in that world have used their fame in horrible ways (Google "Burning Sun" if you want to learn more ... *shudder*), and I have been told, over and over, how this or that fandom is toxic. I think I'm lucky in being part of the KPop community that seems the absolute opposite of toxic. Maybe you'll be able to get back into the fandom if you're able to find that type of community? I hope so.
