I am so incredibly sad about my timing in life. I finally have savings but I still don't make enough to get a loan that could afford even a shitty house in my area. Fucking housing crisis and work from home people that drive up the prices :(

Same, same, same. They're saying the housing market is softening but not enough imo. And of course, even if I could afford to get a loan, I definitely don't want to end up in a situation where I'm "house poor."

ayrt - the news in my area is "the housing market is sofetning....but not here." Stupid popular city with constant growth and low inventory. Sometimes I wish I wasn't so well established in my local market (my job is weird and each location is different) and with friends and family here, I'd have an easier time moving somewhere more affordable.
