kinda agree? playing a game on easy mode is absolutely fine for whatever reason BUT if you're reviewing or reccing a game and your experience with the game is only on a mode that significantly changes mechanics or skips some entirely, that should be mentioned somewhere. seems straightforward to me

in some genres it usually doesn't matter at all, like jrpgs. in others it matters a lot

it's hugely dependent on the game. I don't think I've ever played a game where switching to easy means you miss out on story - it only means I can get through the stupid miniboss and on to the next cutscene instead of replaying that same damn battle 10 times and getting madder each death.

but then there's all the games where streamers buzz through as fast as they can to show how awesome they are, and at that point not only are you missing half the game, you're also presenting yourself online disingenuously by not saying you're playing it on easy.
