I was a fan when it first came out but on a rewatch, I finally saw how bad it actually was. Other anon is right about the hotness but it was also basically the only show like it at the time. It wasn't cribbing from any other genre or tropes so it was definitely "new." And playing into a lot of pop culture of the time - new age shit, crop circles, neo-seance groups, etc.
