That hasn’t been my experience AT ALL. What part of the country are you from? I don’t know a single one supportive of trans rights and the gay men I know in particular are huge transphobes. Birth years range from 69 to 78. This is mostly in Cambridgeshire but also a small group in London who moved there from all over. I cut myself off from my old friends group because I got sick of the transphobia. “They’re just crying for attention. WE had it way worse. They’ve got mental health. Nutters in women’s clothes.”

Tripitaka/Sanzo Hoshi is always played by a woman in multiple media. It's not a matter of crossdressing or a trans man, it's the fact that they were the preferred actresses compared to more manly ones.

that sounds terrible, OP. but I can at least assure you X-Files isn't like your ex. I don't think it held up well and a number of the ideas cribbed for mythology were disproven even back in the 90s when it was being written, it's very hard for a skeptic to take seriously. so, feel free to continue not watching it because it's, in hindsight, just not a very good show. but don't blame an insane ex who needs therapy, blame bad writing.

I like Conspiracy theories, aliens, etc., in fiction. But oh boy, is it not as "cute" and "fun" in real life. My stepdad has really fallen into this garbage, he is not as paranoid as your ex, but it's baffling every time he tries to give credence to flat earth in any way.

This is one of my fav movies of all time so now I don't associate it with periods anymore, but I remember joking about that with my sisters when we first saw it around 2002-2003. Like we were doing zombie walks/runs when we were on our periods. It was so silly!
