Ah, estranged family on my end too. I'm really sorry to hear that, anon. Your Mom's doctors or nurses might be able to provide some good support resources at her appointments in the near future; I was often given some numbers and resources for if I had questions, concerns or just needed a chat and a scream. I'm not sure whereabouts you are, but I really hope you're both given the appropriate support going forward. I hope your chosen family are ready to support, too.

To quote our nurses, if you and your Mom both feel up to it, now is the time to make some memories, even if it's just in small ways. Doesn't have to be anything fantastical; watch a favourite film, share a favourite meal, listen to some music you both love. Every moment I shared with my Dad post-diagnosis, while obviously in a very different light, was so precious.

For what it's worth, if you ever need a good rant, shout out here and I'll be more than happy to give you my Discord or something. <3

Unfortunately I live over 17 hours away now. :c So memories isn't gonna happen more than it is with phone calls.
