I'm all caught up with this series and can attest that there's no stupid romantic subplot for the main character. Her friend/roommate/colleague is seen dating casually (with no steady partner), but that's it. This show is refreshingly low on messy personal life crap, there's maybe two episodes that deal with Alexa's past, namely how her husband was killed in a car accident, but it keeps the angsty drama down to reasonable levels and focuses on the mystery.

There's also cute cats!

DA but that makes me want to finish watching. I got the sense in the early eps there might be stupid romantic subplot and I kind of noped out, but now I am going to have to go back and enjoy my Lucy Lawless!
