I looooved that show when I first saw it back in the 80s. I think its probably responsible for me originally wanting to have my own little farm in the backyard, well, the veggies at least. I always liked the neighbours though. Penelope Keith! such a good cast looking back on it now. I kinda miss all those good british comedies from that era.

It is pretty great, and the Young Ones wouldn't have parodied some boring show nobody wanted to watch. My favourite little subplot was Richard's boss always forgetting his wife's name, and they'd tell him it's Fatima.

I like it too. I own all four series and the command performance on DVDs (though it's called Good Neighbors on them). That and As Time Goes By are my British cozy comedy go-tos.

As Time Goes By is so lovely and sweet. It's like getting a hug from your grandparents.

Judi Dench described it as gentle comedy and it very much is.

Look here, you, if you've got anything horrid to say about Felicity Kendal, then you can just about blooming well say it to me first!

Haha! Everybody loves Felicity Kendal. I loved the bit in Red Dwarf where Holly says they found a planet that looked like Felicity Kendal's bottom, so they circled that a few times.
