what entertainers or actors or comedians do you think got significantly more entertaining as they got older?

what about significantly less entertaining?

addendum: by this mean their current skills got more/less relatively entertaining not like you went and looked at their stuff from thirty years ago and it didn't hit the same now that you're older yourself

I can’t think of any that got more entertaining (doesn’t mean there aren’t any but one spring to mind).

But pretty much every A lister in Hollywood has gotten less entertaining because most just play the same roles over and over. And the quality of the stories seems to be declining, too, so even if the actors aren’t losing any acting ability they had, it still looks like it.

David Hasselhoff got significantly more entertaining once he started taking himself less seriously and leaned into the bit.

More: Keanu Reeves, Michael Shannon, Ariana Grande

Less: Jack Black, Usher

With the "more", Keanu Reeves and Michael Shannon were actors who I enjoyed seeing in movies, but as the years go by I like that they do projects that they want to and they still come in with all they've got. And Ariana Grande was a Nickelodeon actor/pop star who I felt indifferent to for a long time, but as the years have gone by I've come to love a lot of her music and the various acting projects she's done. Outside of her personal life/tabloid junk, I've really come to enjoy seeing her evolve as an entertainer.

Less: they were the first two names that popped into my head when I thought about it. When Jack Black and Usher were first hitting their big moments (Jack Black with "School of Rock" and the "Kung Fu Panda" series and Usher with "Yeah!"/Confessions), I really liked their works and found them very entertaining. These days, I just feel completely indifferent to their works.

Jack Black has always reminded me of a middle school bully who liked to bend my (and the other girls') arm back between the shoulder blades....

Colin Farrell has aged into indie roles very well. I could watch him and Brendan Gleeson all day.

With a few exceptions, most actors who went the superhero route have not aged into other roles very well.
