Yeah, I was a mod in a discord and tried to implement this rule (there was an off-topic channel where people could post whatever they wanted) and immediately got accused of being a right-wing Trump voter. Firstly, I'm a lot further left that the accuser was, secondly, I'm not from the US, and thirdly, when I asked them what were they doing offline to support their Very Important Causes, the answer turned out to be "nothing". I told them the things I do and they wouldn't believe that somebody actually did "that much". (Spoiler: it wasn't "that much" really.)
