18. As much as I love that game, it doesn't live up to the hype. Then again, it's very rare that something does live up to the hype.

I like getting into fandoms early before everyone starts wigging out about how awesome it is, because if I get into it later then I end up being disappointed (lol Final Fantasy). Even if they are great games in their own right.

I've seen you around! Yeah, Byakuya/Ichigo (and vice versa) is my only slash pairing from Bleach because of that convention. And it makes me feel so dirty. :/

I've never been into yaoi at all. I write slash, but I don't always write equal relationships. Not all my pairings, mind, but some of them have a stricter D/s thing going on than others. Bondage is good for this, especially with pretty boys who look hot in leather and collars (and dresses FTW!). XD

In the end, it's all about writing what you like, or what turns you on, so whatever.

This is probably not an entirely useful comment, but whatever. XD Just wanted to point out that slash can have power play in it as well.

17. I agree, for the most part. That is, I usually don't hate them, but I frequently find them dull in the canon, and in most of the fandom (although some really great authors can give them new perspective).

I think the fault of this is actually they're given no other role than 'Main character lol!' and you never see anymore sides than than that.

Yeah, pretty much. In my personal Symphonia fanon, I tend to go "Lloyd? Lloyd who? Wasn't the game about angels and Renegades? You know, the interesting people?" And that's even more pronounced in Last Exile, where I sometimes tend to forget the two lead characters even exist...

15. Sort of -- but Winry is so much more likleable than in the Anime.
Really. In the Anime she's mainly whiny annoyance.
In the manga she's so much more kick-ass. and well - it's not THAT canonzied.

I'd suggest giving a go at the magna,though. Even if at the beginning it's a bit slow, it picks up and becoems really excellent.

I adore manga Winry. She's a great character. I can understand people not liking her in the anime although she didn't really bother me to a great extent. I guess I like both the anime and the manga for giving me two different canons to work from.

well,yeah. Both are pretty different works which end up exploiting characters in different ways as well. agreed on liking them both (though,to throw my two-cents in, I preferred the beginning of the Anime to the beginning of the manga, and the direction the manga took rathern than the direction the Anime took with all this 'hey!it's our world! in the 1920s!' stuff.).

Yeah, the anime kinda jumped shark for me towards the end. In my opinion, there were a lot of things that didn't add up or make a whole lot of logical sense. Having said that it's one of my favourite animes, I just infinitely prefer the manga. But hey, to each his/her own right? :p
