I genuinely think the Gallaghers’ bullshit was a big part of keeping them relevant in the UK. Interpersonal band drama, rock stars being rock stars, with the added oomph of it being family drama too.

I don't think they even like Australia, or anywhere else, or anyone else, they definitely don't like each other.... The band has the vibe of a co-worker you want to avoid because they're constantly complaining about everything and making anything they work on take five times as long because of it.

Re: Types and compatibility?

(Anonymous) 2025-07-24 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
I ‘have a type’ in the sense that there are some aesthetic attributes that I find appealing from a shallow level, but when it comes to a lasting, long term relationship they only go so far for me and personality compatability is far more important for a relationship that will work for me. And I reckon, but don’t know 100% ofc as I’m just me, that a lot of people that are like this.

Just from my own personal experiences of people around me, those who try to make relationships work based off of attraction alone rarely seem to work out or are happy if the pair are trying to make it work. But again: this is just my perspective, things like this are usually pretty complex.

I never thought that at all.
One thing I did notice after binge watching many years later that I didn't notice the first time around was the fact that the line "what are you doing here?" seems to show up at least once almost every ep.

Characters you changed your minds on

What are some characters you have changed your mind on? Either you liked them at first and grew to hate them or you weren't sure about them at first but now love them.

since when does clam chowder have green things in it? (and what are they anyway?)

(Anonymous) 2025-07-24 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
They totally suck.

I kind of like All Around the World but always found them sort of annoying otherwise, even in the 90's when they were a lot more popular.

Mike on MST3K. I initially really disliked him because I loved Joel but I got used to him and like him now.

I don't think this was supposed to be portrayed as a good quality, just something that a large part of the intended audience would enjoy at the time. But the show digs into how Daria is, for instance in her discussion with Jodie about how their attitudes work for them, but also why she is like that and how it effects others, like in 'Boxing Daria'. But the 'this attitude is what works for me now' makes me think maybe Daria would agree with you to some degree at a later stage in her life.

ewww, way to ruin one of my favorite soups. It looks like there's a ton of it in there too.

(Anonymous) 2025-07-24 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
Waifu clam chowder but your image sure does include a lot of non-waifus...

Anyway, with the new trailer that just came out the other night that everybody's talking about now, how are you feeling about that bowl of soup?

I think it’s being used as the female equivalent of “sausage fest”

Faramir. I didn't really care about him at all and then I loved him when I rewatched LOTR as an adult.

Deadpool and Sansa are the same way. I was meh about them but grew to love them.

Steve Rogers, though? I hated him until I saw The Winter Soldier. Then I fell in love.

If your seaside village of 127 people with a median age of 77 doesn’t have at least three murders a week, I’m not interested.

Teen me hated Boromir because he was creepy and mean to Frodo, but adult me saw that the ring was bringing out his worst traits and he was a kind, loving person doomed by a cursed evil object.

And hate is far too strong of a word, but I liked Astarion just fine to begin with and now I’ll be happy to not see the guys face again for a while. I don’t hate him at all I just got tired of the over-saturation of him and have been disconnected from all BG3 fan content for a while now just to get some space in general.

I doubt they like anything other than money. I avoid everything about them and their stupid repetitive songs, but unfortunately they're seen as one of those bands that "everyone" likes.

(Anonymous) 2025-07-24 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Oh! That makes sense, thank you!

I was sympathetic to Alicent on House of the Dragon, but am now 100% Team Rhaenyra.

When I started Star Trek: Voyager, I really liked Chakotay, didn't care for Kim, and hated Tom.
When I finished it, I loved Tom and Kim, and didn't care for Chakotay at all.

(Also, I hated Kyo from Fruits Basket when he was first introduced, then thought he was great by the end of season 1.)

Secret maker here (but not the OP)

The image choice was mine, as this was a comment secret. I'm afraid I'm not at all familiar with the fandom, so I looked for an image about the most recent version mentioned and went with that. My bad for the low waifu content!

Cheers,

a secret maker
