I know quite a few older people into Stray Kids, ranging from 40s to late 60s. And unlike a lot of kpop fans, they don't seem to be screamingly awful. Maybe it's something about the group, or maybe the age of the fans!

I have no idea how they stack up to other Kpop bands, but I know about them a little because my friend was obsessed with them and gave me a bunch of primers on them. They did seem interesting to me, especially (as you said) the fact that they write and produce their own music. Also, that they have two Aussies among them, and also Felix's really deep voice and tendency to get inadvertently memed. The whole industry of Kpop still kinda weirds me out, and I know their group dynamics are largely show/for the fans, but they were pretty intriguing.

If they seem to genuinely like each other it just means they're better at pretending than 98% of other Kpop bands. Seriously.
