But that’s the thing. What does it even MEAN on the grand scheme of things.

Say I got into a fight. In their eyes this is impulsive because I can get arrested or punched. But it’s important for me to defend what may be, my property, w/e and I am acting on the assumption that the police won’t do shit. The assumption is socially influenced (by past experiences) so was my action rational? Impulsive? Both?

That’s what I have been saying. The assumption that it’s one or the other when it’s always both is weird and perhaps even a tad classist

If you thought about it and it wasn't thoughtless, it wasn't impulsive.

Other people without access to your thoughts can assume it was, but that doesn't make them right. People assume lots of incorrect things based on limited info.

I don't get what's confusing about that.
