OMG RIGHT?!!

I just wann enjoy my demon show with deep worldbuilding .

Im also annoyed by all the videos on YouTube redesigning characters because the way canon did it is WRONG! (like i don't mind redesigns but the cynical overcritical negativity is just exhausting. I've started marking all the 'here's why the hellaverse bad' videos as not wanted because I'm just tired of negativity.)

Online fandom can be exhausting.

I have not seen Amy of these redesign videos but that sounds like the most annoying thing. Like, what? How could canon do the designs wrong when it's CANON????

A lot o times it's people who are either using demon mythology to hold to Viv's designs or just "I think the designs SHOULD look like this" type stuff.

Oooooh, I think I have seen one of those, then! I remember seeing someone complain at length about Beelzebub's design, specifically her wings, because those aren't ~bible accurate~ and then not once using anything from the bible to back up that claim or even explain why that should be relevant to the show in any way.

Yeah I feel like these folks have a specific idea if what they would do abd i respect criticism but i wish more people would separate the idea of "what I would prefer/do" and what the creator did" from right/wrong and accept that more than one person's ideas can be valid. Honestly i find it refreshing the direction Viv went with for Bee/Ozzy. It feels very creative and unique.

I've watched the occasional compilation vids for this show and have gone into the tags for the demon and imp ship(I forget the ship name, sorry) a few times just because I find the idea of their whole mess appealing but I've not sat down to watch the show properly. But I can understand your pain OP, some fandoms are just not any fun to be in even when you like the canon you love, I keep most of my fandom activity to reading fics and reblogging fanart I like and it keeps me pretty happy tbh

I'm pretty sure it's cause a lot of them ARE kids. I've seen a distressing amount of comments on youtube and tumblr about kids bragging about watching an 18+ tv show.

I genuinely blame social media for this. Not for kids watching the show, I definitely would have watched it as a kid as well, but I would have shut up about it and lurked out of fear of being found out.

The pearl clutching about kids watching the show is something that I personally would count as part of the unnecessary wank the HB fandom creates.

I think most people aren't exactly pearl-clutching that kids watch the show, they're more pissed that minors watching the show keep trying to control and to an extent sanitise the fandom in line with their sensibilities. Most people grew up consuming media they weren't old enough for, but watching and low-key participation is one thing, being a snot-nosed brat who thinks they have a right to demand the fandom cater/yield to them when they're technically not supposed to be in it is another.

Oh, that's definitely annoying. I'm very get-off-my-lawn about those types of underage fans myself. And I also get the people who don't want clearly underage kids at panels, as that's just uncomfortable for everyone.

But honestly, I've seen WAY more people appalled how parents could ~let their kids watch the show when there's *gasp* crass talk about sex and violence~ rather than what you're describing.

Any type of sanitising in any fandom, but especially THIS fandom, feels incredibly stupid though and I'm 100% with anyone annoyed at that.

I'm trying to figure out if this is inspired by something in particular, even though the fandom is hella wanky, so it could be anything lol

Going by the last sentence and the timing I'm guessing this is either inspired by the last short with Loona or just general the wank surrounding Stolas (because there is always wank around Stolas. If I never hear anything about that one animatic again it will be too soon).
